Experimental songwriter, alt-rocker, pyscho-performer & sound artist Anna Palmer is a Woman of many guises, best known for her bewitching tones as vocalist & multi-instrumentalist in Birmingham’s beloved weirdo-pop band Dorcha. Not one to be pigeon-holed, over the last 13yrs in the Brum music scene Palmer has shape-shifted between many musical offerings, playing in a number of local bands, creating music under different alias’, as well as collaborative commission works as a professional composer and producer. From 3 piece rock band Pretty Grim, to folk alter-ego Judy Brush, to the rattling wonky electronica of Limpid, there is a wondrous world of music to be found with Palmer’s name behind it. Anna is also an educator, offering interactive children's workshops in experimental music and as visiting tutor in composition at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

“Dorcha already know their own collective mind and are starting to channel a genre defying path through the increasingly fractured musical landscape. They deliver original and ambitious ideas with attitude and commitment, combining their considerable aptitude as players with an impressive musical sensibility. They clearly enjoy what they do. In Anna Palmer they have a tenacious front woman whose ability to move convincingly from sweet song to dark folk to visceral noise is captivating. Dorcha are a tight, grounded, self assured band delivering solid ideas that demand some attentive listening.” - Verity Sharp, BBC Radio 3.
